Irvine Shade Replacement Parts: Springs, Stops & Brackets

A shade that retracts poorly may need adjustment or a replacement spring. A shade that stops at the wrong height may need its stop position checked. A loose rail may point to mounting hardware. This guide helps you gather the right information, narrow down the next check, and find the relevant part without replacing an otherwise usable shade.

How to identify your Irvine RV shade

Start with the shade installed in your RV, rather than the RV model alone. Different windows can have different systems, and a previous owner may have replaced a shade. Photograph the manufacturer label, the complete shade, both tube ends, and the brackets holding the assembly in place.

• Roller shade: the fabric winds around a tube. Record the tube's outside diameter, shade width, panel count, and any manufacture date or series marking.
• Pleated shade: the fabric folds like an accordion. Its cords and mounting hardware are a separate system; the roller-spring charts below do not apply.
• Motorized shade: identify the motor and control system before using a manual spring-adjustment procedure.

Measure the tube itself, not the rolled-up fabric or an end cap. Record the mounting-rail width and fabric width separately if you are unsure which the replacement listing requires. Keep fractions in your measurements instead of rounding across a size boundary.

Which part should you check first?

Use the symptom to choose a check, not to assume a diagnosis. Take a short video of the problem before removing anything; it can help distinguish poor retraction from an incorrect stop setting.

• Won't retract, retracts slowly, or retracts too quickly: consult the model-specific spring-tension instructions and check for visible rubbing or a displaced assembly. If the adjustment will not hold, identify the spring before ordering.
• Stops at the wrong upper position: follow the stop-position procedure for the identified system. If adjustment does not resolve it, compare the matching auto stop.
• Won't stay where you leave it: report whether it slips downward, rolls upward, or only holds at one position. Confirm the mechanism before choosing a spring or stop.
• Rail or roller falls out: stop operating it and inspect the rail clips, end brackets, and seating. A new spring will not repair cracked mounting hardware.

Irvine replacement springs: choose the tube, then the width

Spring selection has two separate measurements: the tube diameter identifies the spring family, while the shade width selects a size within that family. Spring assembly length is not the same measurement as shade width.

Pre-2019 Slow-Rise shades need a fitment check. The current 1¼″ Premium replacement spring listing specifies 2019+ model years. Do not assume an older shade accepts it because the tube diameter matches. Send photos and the shade label before ordering; see our pre-2019 Slow-Rise spring guidance.

Irvine auto stops and position fixers

Auto stops are listed separately from replacement springs. Match the tube family and compare the existing end connection with the product photos. A part fitting inside the tube does not, by itself, prove it will connect correctly to your existing end bracket.

If the shade still retracts but stops at the wrong height, start with the manufacturer's stop-position instructions. If the existing connection differs from the replacement photos, send us both views before buying.

Mounting clips, L brackets, and roller end brackets

“Shade bracket” can mean two different things: the hardware fastening the mounting rail to the RV, or the end bracket supporting the roller. Photograph the failed part in place so you can identify which one you need.

For rail mounting, compare the clip profile, dimensions, hole locations, and wall-versus-ceiling mounting arrangement. Irvine publishes separate bracket illustrations for Slow-Rise and Valu-Line on its replacement-parts reference page.

• Slow-Rise mounting examples: #1 mounting clip, #3 flat bracket, and #4 regular L bracket.
• 1″ Valu-Line mounting examples: #7 snap-in clip and #9 L bracket.

For roller end brackets, also match single-night versus day/night configuration and the arrangement of the rollers. Bracket numbers alone are not a universal fitment system across shade brands.

Repair the part or replace the complete shade?

When the fabric, tube, and rail are still usable and the failed component can be identified, compare the cost of the matching repair part with a complete replacement. For damaged fabric, a bent assembly, an unidentified mechanism, or a change in shade style, a new custom shade may be the more practical route.

Irvine shade replacement parts FAQs

Are Irvine shade parts universal?

No. Match manufacturer, system, tube diameter, component connection, and any year restrictions. Similar-looking parts from another brand are not a confirmed replacement.

Can I use a Slow-Rise spring in a Valu-Line shade?

Do not order it as a drop-in upgrade. The current Slow-Rise spring is for the 1¼″ Premium system; Valu-Line has separate ¾″ and 1″ replacement springs.

Does my RV's model year prove the shade's age?

No. Use the shade label and photos. The installed shade may have been replaced, so the coach year alone is not enough to confirm spring fitment.

Should I order an auto stop if my shade won't roll up?

Not from that symptom alone. First identify the system and review its tension and troubleshooting instructions. Tell us whether there is resistance, slipping, or a stop-height problem so we can help identify the relevant component.

What should I send to get help finding the part?

Send the full shade, label, both tube ends, and mounting hardware in clear photos. Include tube diameter, shade width, any part number, and a description or video of the failure. For multiple windows, label each set of photos separately.
