Which Irvine Replacement Spring Fits My RV Roller Shade?

Answered by Elkhart RV Parts · Elkhart, Indiana · Updated August 2026
Direct Answer

Match the roller tube diameter first, then the shade width. Irvine uses three tube sizes and the spring is not interchangeable between them. A 1-1/4" tube is a Slow-Rise premium shade. A 1" or 3/4" tube is a Valu-Line shade. Once you know the tube, the width of the shade from left to right tells you the spring length. Every spring below is $49.97 and ships from our warehouse in Elkhart, Indiana.

Model year matters on the 1-1/4" spring. The Slow-Rise spring above is specified for 2019 and newer premium shades. If your shade is older, measure the tube and call us before ordering — we will confirm the right part rather than let you guess.

How to Measure the Roller Tube Outside Diameter

Measure the aluminum tube itself, outside edge to outside edge. The 3/4", 1", and 1-1/4" families in this chart refer to the tube's outside diameter (OD), not the hole inside it.

  1. Find an exposed, undamaged part of the aluminum tube. Measure the tube the fabric wraps around, not the fabric roll, bracket, end cap, or top mounting rail. Do not detach attached fabric or dismantle the spring just to take this measurement.
  2. Use calipers or a rigid ruler. With calipers, place the outside-measuring jaws against opposite outside surfaces of the tube. With a ruler, look straight at the tube end and measure across its center from one outer edge to the opposite outer edge. Align the zero mark with the first edge; do not assume the ruler's physical end is zero.
  3. Keep the reading square and visible. Do not measure diagonally or wrap a flexible tape around the tube; that gives a different measurement. For a photo, show the tube end straight on with both outside edges and the ruler marks or caliper reading visible. Coin comparisons and top-rail dimensions are clues, not a substitute for a clear OD reading.
  4. Record shade width separately. Tube OD is the short distance across the round tube. Shade width is the left-to-right measurement across the shade; spring length is the length of the spring assembly. They are not interchangeable measurements. Once the tube family is confirmed, use the shade-width column in the chart to select the spring length.

If the reading is unclear or falls between the listed sizes, do not round it to the nearest family. Send a clear measurement photo and the shade's identification tag, if available, to help@elkhartrvparts.com or call 574-675-6919 before ordering. A measurement photo helps identification; it does not by itself guarantee fitment. The 1-1/4" premium spring listing is for 2019+ model-year shades; older premium shades need confirmation.
