RV Pleated Blinds Installation & Night Only vs Day Shade Guide
RV Pleated Blinds Installation & Night Only vs Day Shade Guide
How are pleated blinds installed in an RV, and what is the difference between the Night Only and Day Shade options? Is the Night Only shade a blackout shade, and do I need to order black color for blackout?
Pleated blinds in RVs are installed by attaching the top rod (headrail) above the window frame using mounting brackets and screws. The blind’s strings run down each side and are fastened to screw-in button disc anchors at the two bottom corners. This setup keeps the blinds taut, secure, and close to the wall, preventing movement while driving and allowing smooth operation.
Regarding shade types, the Night Only shade is made from a heavier, more opaque fabric than the Day Shade, providing greater privacy and light blocking. However, whether it is a full blackout shade depends on the fabric and color choice. For a true blackout effect, selecting the color Black is typically necessary, as lighter colors like Cotton allow more light to filter through. If blackout performance is a priority, ordering the Night Only shade in black is recommended.
