This policy applies to appliances and other products whose proper operation depends on installation, adjustment, electrical or mechanical connection, programming, calibration, vehicle compatibility, or interaction with other RV systems. These are referred to below as Functional Products.

Functional Products include, without limitation: air conditioners and heat pumps; refrigerators; fireplaces; furnaces; water heaters; microwaves, ranges and ovens; awnings and awning assemblies; awning motors, arms and controls; slide-out components; leveling and stabilization systems; steps and step assemblies; powered vents and fans; pumps; converters, inverters and electrical equipment; control boards, thermostats and electronics; motors and actuators; powered shades and doors; generators and related equipment; and similar mechanical, electrical, electronic, powered, plumbed, or installed RV components.

The purpose of this policy is to separate three different problems that require different remedies: (1) physical shipping damage, (2) an ERVP fulfillment error, and (3) a Functional Product that does not operate correctly after delivery or installation.

1. Inspect Before Opening, Installing, or Testing

Inspect the shipment immediately after delivery. Before opening the carton, photograph all sides of the package, the shipping label, and any visible damage. Keep the original carton, internal packaging, labels, hardware, accessories, and product until any shipping-damage issue is resolved.

If physical shipping damage is found, stop. Do not install, mount, wire, connect, energize, plumb, program, extend, retract, operate, modify, disassemble, or otherwise use the product. Continuing installation or operation after damage is discovered can prevent reliable determination of when or how the damage occurred and may affect available remedies.

2. Physical Shipping Damage

To use Elkhart RV Parts' shipping-damage claims process, visible or concealed physical transit damage must be reported through our support/returns process within 7 calendar days of delivery. Report it as soon as it is discovered.

Provide, as applicable: photographs of every side of the carton; the shipping label; damaged packaging; the physical damage to the product; model, part and serial-number labels; all included components; and a description of what was found. Preserve the product and all packaging while the claim is reviewed.

Elkhart RV Parts will evaluate documented shipping damage and, when appropriate, administer the available carrier, ParcelGuard, vendor, or other transit-damage claim. A replacement or refund is not automatically issued before the evidence and claim are reviewed.

3. Wrong Item, Shortage, or Missing Components

If Elkhart RV Parts shipped the wrong product, wrong variant, or a shipment is missing parts or components, notify us within 7 calendar days of delivery with photographs of what was received, the shipping label, product labels, contents, and packaging. These are ERVP fulfillment issues and are handled separately from manufacturer warranty claims.

4. Functional Failure Is Not Automatically Shipping Damage

A Functional Product that does not operate, extend, retract, cool, heat, ignite, pump, move, level, communicate, respond, or otherwise perform as expected—but has no evidence of physical transit damage—is not automatically a shipping-damage claim and is not automatically proof that the product was defective when ERVP shipped it.

The cause can include a manufacturing defect, installation error, mounting geometry, wiring, polarity, voltage, amperage, grounding, power quality, plumbing, gas supply, programming, calibration, adjustment, control components, sensors, vehicle-side components, compatibility, pre-existing RV conditions, damage during installation, or another technical condition that Elkhart RV Parts cannot reliably diagnose from a distance.

Once a Functional Product has been installed, mounted, connected, wired, energized, plumbed, programmed, adjusted, operated, modified, or used, it is not eligible for a standard unused-product return. A no-transit-damage performance complaint will generally proceed through the applicable manufacturer's technical diagnosis and warranty/service process.

5. Awnings and Other Mechanical Systems

Awning assemblies and similar mechanical systems can be affected by installation alignment, mounting location, arm spacing, rail condition, wiring, controller setup, fabric tension, adjustment, vehicle structure, wind/weather exposure, and other conditions outside ERVP's control. A report that an awning binds, will not extend or retract, tracks improperly, makes noise, has a motor/control issue, or otherwise does not function as expected after installation does not by itself establish shipping damage or entitle the customer to an automatic return or replacement.

If an awning or other Functional Product shows physical damage before installation, stop and report it under the shipping-damage procedure. If it has no physical transit damage but has an operational problem, follow the manufacturer diagnostic/warranty procedure.

6. Manufacturer Warranty and Technical Diagnosis

Many Functional Products sold by Elkhart RV Parts are manufactured by third parties such as Dometic, Furrion/Lippert, Coleman-Mach/Airxcel, Greystone/Way Interglobal, MORryde, Irvine Shade & Door, and others. When a manufacturer warranty applies, the manufacturer or warranty provider determines required diagnosis, testing, service location, repair, parts, replacement, and other available remedies under its warranty terms.

Elkhart RV Parts will provide proof of purchase and reasonable administrative assistance, help identify the appropriate warranty contact, and participate when the manufacturer's procedure requires the selling dealer to do so. ERVP does not make technical findings on behalf of a manufacturer and does not override a manufacturer's warranty determination.

ERVP does not automatically advance-ship a second unit, issue a refund, or authorize return of an installed or operated Functional Product solely because the customer reports that it does not work. A return, repair, replacement, parts shipment, or refund may be authorized when required by the applicable warranty process, when ERVP made a fulfillment error, when required by applicable law, or when ERVP approves a customer-service exception.

7. Installation, Compatibility, and Third-Party Work

Customers are responsible for verifying compatibility and following manufacturer installation, adjustment, safety, and operating instructions unless Elkhart RV Parts made a specific written fitment representation for the customer's exact application. Where the manufacturer requires qualified or authorized installation or diagnosis, those requirements apply.

To the extent permitted by applicable law and the manufacturer warranty, Elkhart RV Parts is not responsible for third-party installer workmanship; incorrect installation, mounting, wiring, adjustment, programming or setup; incompatible or defective vehicle-side systems; improper voltage, polarity, grounding, gas, plumbing or power quality; wind, weather or environmental damage after delivery; damage caused during installation or use; diagnostic charges; removal/reinstallation labor; travel or towing; loss of use; or other consequential costs not covered by the applicable warranty.

8. Do Not Remove, Discard, or Alter Evidence

Do not discard packaging, identification labels, serial-number labels, damaged parts, included components, or other evidence while a shipping or warranty claim is pending. Do not materially alter or dispose of the product unless ERVP, the manufacturer, or the claim administrator instructs you to do so. Failure to preserve reasonably requested evidence can prevent ERVP or another responsible party from validating a claim.

9. Unused Returns

Unused returns remain subject to the return terms shown for the specific product at the time of purchase. Unless the product page states otherwise, an eligible standard return must remain new, unused, uninstalled, unmodified, complete, and in resalable condition with original packaging, labels, serial numbers, hardware, accessories, and documentation intact. Special-order, custom, electrical, and other product categories may have additional or final-sale terms.

10. Payment Disputes

If you believe there is a problem with your order, contact Elkhart RV Parts so the issue can be routed to the correct shipping-damage, fulfillment, return, or manufacturer-warranty process. ERVP may contest payment disputes that are inconsistent with the transaction record, delivery evidence, product condition, accepted policies, customer communications, installation/use history, or applicable warranty/return process. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
